FAQ # 7 Genesis Trucks

The genesis trucks we sell are OEM athearn, brand new !
One of the things that I would suggest you do is to take the sideframes
off the gearboxes and take a small rat tail fill and go in and clean up the
axles holes in the metal side plates.
When the parts are made they have a tendency to have a jaggad edge and
this effects the electrical path !
Also make sure you solder all your wires to the trucks and not use the plastic
slide on connectors !
Also make sure you have good continuity from truck wheels to the pc board !
Another thing is to make sure you don't have to much side to side wheelset
movement. you can use kadee cpler truck washers to take up the side movement
if needed !
Because the axle ends are tapered on the ends, if they move to much from side to side
you could have poor contact because of taper and not having enough flat surface to make
good contact with side plates !
