Complete Power Chassis - Available with Can &/or MicroMotors, As Appropriate.

Each Proto Power West chassis is hand assembled to insure the finest quality and reliability. Twenty eight steps are required to complete each chassis, including:

•  Motor cavity of frame is filled with an average of 3 oz.. of lead and shaped to fit motor
•  Frames are custom machined to accept certain shells or represent certain protoypes (where applicable)
•  Powerful, low current draw can motor is attached to modified frame with urethane foam tape (to absorb vibration)
•  Custom made precision brass flywheels with Athearn couplings are fitted to motor shafts
•  Flexible multi-stranded wire is hand soldered to motor leads for trouble free electrical continuity with motor to truck
•  Connection made with removable spade tabs
•  Motor to chassis ground eyelet is pressed into predrilled hole in chassis for reliable conductivity
•  Athearn trucks are disassembled and the components are closely inspected, adjusted and fine tuned prior to reassembly
•  Labelle #102 and #106 lubricants are applied to all drive components where needed
